Classes, Workshops, & Professional Development
I offer classes, workshops, and professional development opportunities for educators, artists & creatives, and researchers. These learning experiences focus in unique ways on the intersection of creative practice, inquiry practice, and mindfulness practice. A key goal is bringing art, inquiry, and mindfulness practice together to support healing and transformational learning. All classes, workshops, and professional development opportunities utilize an engaged format in which participants frame and lead a project or activity of personal significance to them.
CIL Classes & Workshops
Creative Change: Transforming Ourselves and the World: Participants journey deep within themselves by creating art. They use their art to see themselves and to heal. Drawing on these personal insights, participants then use their art to create connections in community to support the healing and transformation of others.
Imagination & Creativity: Building Your Creative Practice: Artists, creatives, and the creatively curious deepen and develop their unique and personal creative practice by creating art, sharing it with others, and giving and receiving reflection.
Creative Listening Circles: Artists, creatives, and the creatively curious gather to share their art in community, receive reflection on their work, and offer reflection to others. The artist listening circle is a safe space to offer what is most creatively alive for us right now. Watch a short video about origin of Creative Listening Circles here.
Creative Inquiry: Engaging with Arts-Based Research: Participants use artistic practices to answer research questions that it would not be possible to answer using only traditional quantitative or qualitative research methods.
Action Research for Educators: Teachers develop and utilize research skills and methods to improve their teaching practice.
Multicultural Arts Education: Educators deepen their understanding of the ways learning happens in and through the arts—across a wide range of artistic domains— and develop strategies to support the arts learning of students.
